Far better your average Chinese takeout, a great menu, always excellent service, all add up to being a superior value. Your getting every every pennies worth at Yen Ching. The Mu Shu Pork, Singapore Noodles, and Egg Drop Corn Soup are among my favorites. Cool atmosphere and even though it has been there for s long time, it doesn't show. It's sparkling clean every time I've been there. One of my favorites in the Richmond area.

Nice Chinese restaurant. It has a good selection and the food is delicious! The staff is friendly and the restaurant has a quaint feel to it. Would definitely go back.

I've been a huge fan of Yen Ching for over 30 years. My parents took me to both locations in Southside and West Broad Street when I was just a wee little one. It is the best in town. Period. The quality, the service, and the experience is consistently excellent every time, whether it's dine in or take out.

My opinion the best chinese food in Richmond. Most authentic dishes any where. Wayne is awesome and is very helpful with any needs.

Thank you being open for takeout during the Covid virus and continuing to create those scrumptious dishes. Our order of crispy honey/kungpao chicken were extremely tasty and brought back fond memories of Yen Ching. Keep the faith your doors will be open for full-service dining soon.

Really nice atmosphere and good food. I'm sure they do takeout but this is definately a Chinese restaurant you don't feel odd eating at. Fast service at lunch time and the usual variety of dishes.

Been going here for years. The owner is amazing and has always treated my family and I wonderful! Their wonton soup is one of my most haves and same with their green pepper steak! Can’t get enough of it. Highly recommend for anyone!! 😃😃😃

I didn't find the comfort in my dinning experience the place seemed to be filled with a lot of tables which are very close to each other. Not a place talk and eat - you might be hearing others they might hear you. Food is Americanizer Chinese, i ordered for Schezwan Chicken and it was sweet with nothing like original Schezwan. They have a soup and rice as a side, the wanton soup was good and rice was usual. I am not very impressed by the service of the representatives, the food was quick like fast food.

This place was delicious! My mother and I ate here for lunch and were so impressed with the beautiful decor and the delicious food! I had the veggie platter and a spring roll and Mom had the chicken and broccoli with fried rice. The food was very flavorful and light, not heavy and greasy. Nice staff and very affordable! Highly recommend!

They are my number one choice for Chinese in The Richmond, Virginia area. The food is consistently fresh and always a delight to eat. My favorite dish is the crispy chicken or the chicken with cashew nuts and vegetables.

We've been ordering and dining here for a few months. I can't believe I haven't given them a review before now. This restaurant is amazing! The staff are some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting.First, I want to encourage you to dine in instead of ordering to go or delivery, the restaurant is generally quiet and very cozy. Their food is always so tender and the shrimp is cooked to perfection, I've never had bad service here and I've definitely never been disappointed with anything they've served us.The thing that really impressed me was this last delivery order from them. The call took no longer than 57 seconds, they delivered the food in practically 20 minutes, and on top of that they gave me free teriyaki beef sticks! They must have remembered that I usually order them. Thank you for brightening up my evening! The staff here deserve some recognition!

My family and I have been dining from this establishment almost 24 years because of the good food and service. Practically priced and adequate portions helped cement it's place in my "go-to-list" of options when the question, "Where do you want to go out to eat?" Is presented. I highly recommend this restaurant and have done so for years to anyone that asks for a good Chinese restaurant in the West End.

I ordered online waited for them to bring to my car as they said wait in the car. It took over an hour to get the order. Greedy placewith no front line help, ignored us to wait on walk ins and phone orders.....

Food was Great. Ordered Pad Thai with Shrimp on Special and is was fantastic. Beef and Scallions, Chicken fried rice and Beef lo mein. Everything was delicious and fresh. Good Service.

This has been my family's go-to Chinese restaurant for decades. The food is always delicious, and reasonably priced. We live a bit further away now than we used to, but it's still easily worth the drive because Yen Ching is the best in the area!

This is my and my family's favorite Chinese restaurant. At least one of the locations has been open for over 30 years. My favorite location is the Henrico restaurant which has a wonderful atmosphere with a water fountain and traditional large Chinese carved wood art piece. Most days it is easy to be seated and the service is very prompt and efficient. My family has been after going to a local event and our large crowd was easily seated also. The food has been consistent and service excellent over the years. My favorite is sesame beef or sesame chicken which many Chinese restaurants do not offer. Their hot-and-sour soup is one of the best in Richmond. I have never been disappointed.

The chef adapted a recipe so I could eat gluten free. I was touched by this kindness. Dinner was very good.

Update: I am adding an additional star to my previous review. I was contacted by the restaurant when I expressed my displeasure of my previous meal. I did not expect that and I think that is excellent customer service to follow-up as he did. The lunch that I ordered was very good this time.

Everyone I know has such great memories of going to Yen Ching...they will always be the best Chinese dining experience in Richmond. Always the freshest quality ingredients and prepared to perfection.

All of the lunch combos are a great value and very well prepared. Soup and entree were both served hot and fresh. Service was excellent. Overall grade A.

Our family Chinese go-to in ALL of Richmond. The owner is always welcoming and treats is like locals. He's seen my baby grow up the last 6 years. GREAT FOOD and excellent service.

“Okay Chinese food with good ambiance...” We were there on one important occasion. I have decided to go there by reading reviews but somehow I am not satisfied that much. 3/5 would be my rating.We ordered Crispy Honey Chicken, Five Taste Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Lo Mein, Chicken Fried Rice with hot and sour soup. They claim five taste chicken is their specialty but it was just chicken breast chunk in honey/bbq sauce. Everything was okay, not great in taste.The server was very rude to us. We asked do you have coke, he replied in one word-‘Pepsi’. Again, we asked do u have coke, he again replied- ‘Pepsi’. Dude tell us we don’t keep coke, why you are confusing us. Even while taking orders he was straight to point, not even suggesting us what’s good here.

Have been going to this restaurant since I was in H.S. back in the 70's. The gentleman running it is awesome and always greets you with a smile and hello. Excellent food & prices..

Great ambiance inside with calm music. The foods are delicious. I love their on-the-house fried rice. The waiter is very good. The manager is very kind. He visited us before leaving. One of the best Chinese restaurant in Henrico. Menus are a bit pricey but fair enough.

Favorite Chinese restaurant of all time! Been eating there since I was a little girl. It is the standard by which I judge all other Chinese food. If you like your rice dry and your veggies mushy pick another spot. If you like sticky rice, perfectly cooked veggies and crispy juicy fat egg rolls this is your place.

I've eaten here on several occasions. I've never had a bad meal. The service prompt and the food is always delicious. My favorite is Hunan Chicken. The atmosphere is nice and quiet. Lunch is very quick, just as good as dinner and a bit less expensive. I definitely recommend Yen Ching.

Trust all the five star reviews. Yen Ching is the go to Chinese place in this area. The food is brilliant and the man that run the business is incredibly nice and hospitable. Everything on the menu is quality with a good mix of your favorite take out chinese dishes mixed with much more authentic options. I simply cannot commend this establishment enough.
